Sutton House, a 30-bedroom scheme for people with varying support needs has received an overall “good” rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) just months after care and support provider Adjuvo took over the management of support.
When Adjuvo took over the scheme in Dick Lane, Tyersal, Bradford, in June 2017, the last CQC report showed the scheme “required improvement”. Since then, Adjuvo has invested heavily in staff training and development and consulted residents on what improvements were required.
Adjuvo Director of Operations Paula Waddington said: “We are delighted with the significant changes we have achieved at Sutton House and for the improvements that have been made to the daily lives of the tenants. It just shows what can be achieved by working in partnership with the people we support, something which is central to our ethos.”
Tenants and staff today celebrated the completion of the physical improvements to the building that have also helped transform the whole scheme.
Tenant Anne-Marie Howorth (24) said: “Things have really improved since Adjuvo took over. It is a much happier place and I really love living here.”
Adjuvo, which is Latin for assist or support, was formed in May last year with the backing of Fairhome Group Plc, who undertook the refurbishment work at Sutton House.
Paula added: “Our partnership with Fairhome is vital as it allows us to design high-quality outcome focussed care and support provision, alongside a partner who can deliver high-quality homes. Sutton House is our first scheme and working with Fairhome we are currently expanding with a domilicary care business in Leeds as well as schemes in Leicester, Bournemouth and Essex.”
